Custom Fit For Your Ears
Real Ear Measurements (REMs) are the gold standard in ensuring optimal hearing device performance. With the Verifit 2, our audiologists can accurately assess how well hearing aids match an individuals hearing needs, providing personalized and effective solutions. This removes the component of guesswork when it comes to fitting hearing devices.
How Real Ear Measurements Work
REMs are a critical part of the hearing aid fitting process. They involve placing a tiny microphone in the ear canal, either inside or outside of the hearing aid, to measure the actual sound level that reaches the eardrum when the hearing aid is in use. This measurement ensures that the hearing aid is delivering the appropriate amplification for the individual’s unique hearing needs.
REMs help audiologists fine-tune the settings of the hearing aid to match the specific characteristics of the individual’s ear canal and hearing loss, resulting in better overall performance and satisfaction with the device. This accuracy can help increase comfort, reduce listening effort, and improve speech intelligibility.
