Dr. Matthew Barbara strives to provide patient-centered care and support better hearing and communication for all his patients. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati with a certificate in Deaf Studies. After completing his residential training with Hearing Associates, he will complete his Au.D. program at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Barbara has training in the treatment and management of both hearing and balance disorders. He presented his senior research Capstone project on the “Effects of Age on Cognitive Decline” and strongly believes in promoting better brain health through better hearing.

He has participated in hearing conservation and research projects through the Student Academy of Audiology, Indianapolis Zoo, and Conserve Africa Now (CAN) in Bela Bela, South Africa. Outside of work, Dr. Barbara enjoys exploring his new state and visiting the beautiful parks.

When you make an appointment with Hearing Associates, your audiologist will take the time to get to know you and the particular communication issues your hearing loss is causing.
